Oral Icon® Polishing Heads Set - For Hygienic and Optimal Results

Have you been using the same polishing head for months? Not only does the shine gradually fade, but there is also an increased risk of buildup of debris and bacteria.

Do you share the Oral Icon® Tooth Polisher with family members? Then give each person their own set to help prevent cross-contamination.

For clean, safe, and effective use, regular replacement is essential.

This set includes five different polishing heads, each designed for a specific purpose:

  • Silicone Rub Head – for stubborn stains caused by coffee, tea, or tobacco.
  • Polishing Cup Head (cup-shaped) – for an evenly polished tooth surface.
  • Umbrella Polishing Cup Head (ribbed) – ideal for interdental spaces and back molars.
  • Flattop Brush Head (flat) – removes polishing residue and built-up deposits.
  • Pointed Brush Head (pointed) – for precision work between teeth and around crowns or braces.

Specially developed for the Oral Icon® Tooth Polisher.

Why are new Oral Icon® polishing heads important?

  1. HYGIENIC FOR EVERYONE. If you use the Oral Icon® Tooth Polisher on your own, replace the polishing heads every 3 months for clean and safe use. If you share the device with family members or housemates, give each person their own set to maintain a fully hygienic routine.
  2. CONSISTENT, OPTIMAL RESULTS. Worn polishing heads lose their polishing performance and remove buildup less effectively. Timely replacement helps keep teeth smooth and polished without extra effort or risk of irritation.
  3. PROTECTS YOUR DEVICE. Worn polishing heads create more friction and rotate less smoothly, forcing the motor to work harder and increasing wear. Replacing them on time helps keep your Oral Icon® Tooth Polisher running smoothly and extending its lifespan.
  4. THE RIGHT POLISHING HEAD FOR EVERY TASK. From stubborn buildup to interdental spaces and precision work, five different polishing heads ensure you always have the right solution at hand.
  5. PERFECTLY PAIRS WITH POLISHING PASTES. Use the silicone head with coarse paste for stubborn buildup, the cup or umbrella head with medium paste for maintenance, and the same heads with fine paste for sensitive teeth and a smooth finish.

Instructions for Using the Oral Icon® Polishing Heads

Attaching and removing

  • Screw the polishing head firmly onto the device by turning it clockwise.
  • Use the included wrench to easily and safely loosen the polishing head.
  • Only use original Oral Icon® polishing heads for optimal safety and performance.

Use per polishing head

  • Silicone Rub Head (smooth): apply directly to the tooth surface and focus on stubborn stains (e.g. coffee, tea, tobacco).
  • Polishing Cup Head (cup-shaped): make gentle circular movements over the teeth; ideal for use with polishing paste.
  • Umbrella Polishing Cup Head (ribbed): use the same motion as with the polishing cup; perfect for interdental spaces and back molars.
  • Flattop Brush Head (flat): use brushing motions similar to toothbrushing to remove residue and buildup.
  • Pointed Brush Head (pointed): move slowly from tooth to tooth for hard-to-reach areas, around crowns or braces.

Use with polishing pastes

For best results, combine the polishing heads with Oral Icon® Polishing Pastes:

  • Silicone head + coarse paste → stubborn buildup.
  • Cup head / umbrella head + medium paste → routine maintenance.
  • Cup head / umbrella head + fine paste → sensitive teeth and a smooth finish.

You may use one combination per session or build multiple steps for a complete treatment.

General tips

  • Always start at the lowest setting, especially for first-time use or sensitive teeth.
  • Hold the polishing head on one spot for 2–3 seconds, then lift it slightly.
  • Polish each tooth for a maximum of 10 seconds.
  • Keep the head moving to prevent overheating and pressure spots.

After use

  • Turn off the device and remove the attachment.
  • Rinse the polishing head under running water (0–75 °C) and allow it to air-dry.
  • Rinse your mouth and wipe the handle clean with a cloth.

Lifespan & replacement

  • The polishing heads are technically usable for up to 6 months.
  • For hygiene and optimal performance: replace every 3 months.
  • If used by multiple family members: each person should have their own set.

Safety precautions

  • Not suitable for children under 15 years of age.
  • Use the Oral Icon® Tooth Polisher only as described in the manual.
  • Do not use on bleeding or inflamed gums, or during dental treatments (e.g. fillings, inlays).
  • Do not use the device while charging. Keep the cable away from heat and moisture.
  • Small particles that may come loose from the silicone polishing heads are normal and completely safe.

What are the Oral Icon® polishing heads made of?

The Oral Icon® polishing heads are made from high-quality, safe materials that are specifically selected for oral use:

Silicone – The Silicone Rub Head, Polishing Cup Head, and Umbrella Cup Head are made from soft, flexible silicone. This material adapts smoothly to the tooth surface and helps remove buildup without damaging the enamel.

Nylon – The Flattop Brush Head and Pointed Brush Head are made from durable nylon. These brushes reach difficult areas and are suitable for effectively removing polishing residue and buildup.

All materials are BPA-free and latex-free, making the polishing heads safe for daily use, including for people with sensitive teeth or allergies.

The Complete Approach for a Radiant Smile

The Oral Icon® polishing heads are designed as an addition to the Oral Icon® Tooth Polisher — a device that allows you to remove stubborn buildup and discoloration at home, similar to a professional dental cleaning.

For the best results, combine the polisher with Oral Icon® Polishing Pastes. These are available in three variants:

  • Coarse – ideal for removing stubborn buildup.
  • Medium – perfect for weekly maintenance.
  • Fine – for sensitive teeth and a smooth finish.

Would you like to try all three variants or combine them in your routine? Choose the Oral Icon® 3-in-1 Polishing Paste Set, which includes coarse, medium, and fine polishing paste in one package.

Together, the polisher, polishing pastes, and interchangeable polishing heads form a complete routine for clean, smooth, and radiant teeth. This way, you get the most out of every treatment — from a quick touch-up to a thorough polishing session.

Frequently Asked Questions about Oral Icon® Polishing Heads

  1. How often should I replace the polishing heads?
We recommend replacing the polishing heads every 3 months. With intensive use, replacement may be needed sooner. Technically, the heads can last up to 6 months, but for hygiene and optimal performance, replacing them every 3 months is best.
  2. Can I share the polishing heads with family members or housemates?
Yes, but each person should use their own set. This helps prevent cross-contamination and ensures fully hygienic use.
  3. Can I clean and reuse the polishing heads?
Yes, the polishing heads are reusable. Rinse them thoroughly under running water (0–75 °C) after each use and allow them to dry before using them again.
  4. Are the polishing heads safe to use?
Yes, all materials are BPA-free and latex-free. The silicone heads may release small particles during use; this is normal and completely safe.
  5. Do I need to use multiple polishing heads in one session?
You can, but it is not required. You may choose one combination (head + paste) per session, or build a complete treatment using multiple steps for a more thorough finish.
